Overview
Urologist Dr Deanne Soares will outline the initial assessment of patients who present with recurrent urinary tract infections (rUTIs), contributory causes, treatment options and management in the general practice setting. red flags that require referral to a specialist will be highlighted.

Learning Outcomes
By the end of this activity, participants will be able to:

  1. Perform initial assessment and investigations to diagnose and manage recurrent UTIs in males and females.
  2. Understand the definition of recurrent UTIs, differentiating between reinfection and relapse.
  3. Identify the red flags for referral to a specialist.
